FY2018 PIA Review

Good afternoon!
Program Integrity Assurance (PIA) review for FY2018 is in full swing and I wanted to pass along some helpful tips for getting through the process. Attached is a guide showing how to navigate to your PIA inquiries in the E-rate Productivity Center (EPC), respond to questions and request an extension. Here are a few things to remember:
- The contact person identified on your Form 471 will receive an email from (portal@usac.org) notifying you that PIA inquiries have been issued in EPC. If the contact person has changed since you filed your form, use a RAL modificationto update the contact information. It is important that this information is correct so you do not miss any news related to your application.
- Your initial timeline is 15 days to respond to PIA questions or request an extension. A one-time 7-day extension is automatically granted if the applicant requests it before the initial deadline.
- It is acceptable to ask your reviewer for clarification if you do not understand their question or are unsure what documents to provide.
- If you receive an “Intent to Modify” or “Intent to Deny” notification and you disagree, it is imperative that you respond immediately to your PIA reviewer asking them to place your application review on hold. This will give you time to gather information for an explanation. Otherwise, the review process will continue and you may not get an opportunity to respond before your funding request is modified or denied.
USAC has not yet announced the expected date that FY2018 Wave 1 will be released but we are hopeful that it will be very soon! In preparation for the release of FY2018 funding decisions, here is a video showing the new and improved Funding Commitment Decision Letter (FCDL).
