February 26 Deadline for EPC Profile Updates

As many of you have heard, the FY2017 Form 471 filing window dates were recently announced. What you may have missed, however, is the quickly approaching February 26 deadline to update your profile information in the E-rate Productivity Center (EPC).
All profile data in EPC should be checked as soon as possible and any necessary changes should be made NOW. After Feb. 26 (which is a Sunday), the SLD will be locking down all profile information and applicants will not be able to make any further changes for FY2017.
The EPC profile data is important because it determines an applicant’s requested discount rate, Category 2 budgets, and address information for the schools and libraries that will be receiving E-rate eligible services. After the February 26 deadline, applicants will be prevented from changing their EPC profile information. It is much easier to update your EPC profile with correct information than it is to fix incorrect information that will appear on your Form 471.
Applicants should check their EPC profile and verify that all of the following information is correct: • New schools have been added to your list of entities (“My Entities” on the Landing Page) • Schools that will be closing as of July 1, 2017 have been removed • Enrollment and NSLP information has been updated to reflect the most current numbers • School name changes or address corrections have been made
Some of these profile changes require the help of USAC’s Customer Service Bureau (CSB) - for example, creating new entities. As of today, USAC does not plan to have extended hours for CSB this weekend – meaning your updates may need to happen by this Friday, February 24.
