E-Rate Update
September 25, 2018

Good afternoon! Below is what’s coming up in the E-Rate world:

1. REMINDER: The last day to submit a service delivery deadline extension request for FY2017 non-recurring services (other than special construction) is September 30. To submit a request, the applicant - not the service provider - files an FCC Form 500 and must provide the reason that the extension is being requested. Read more…

  1. The FY2019 Administrative Window will open October 1, 2018 and close January 7, 2019. This is the window of time when your EPC profile will be unlocked and you can make updates like - school name/address changes, adding new entities to your profile, updating NSLP data with 2018-2019 numbers, etc. USAC plans to push the data approved on your FY2018 Form 471s into your EPC profiles the week before the Admin. Window opens. Although EPC profiles are open now, wait to make updates until after October 1 so your changes are not overwritten by USAC’s data push.

  2. The deadline to file an invoice for FY2017 recurring services is October 29, 2018. Now is the time to make sure you have everything you need to complete the invoicing process or to ask for an extension. USAC has created a new Invoice Deadline Extension Request (IDER) tool in EPC (available Oct. 1). Here are instructions on how to access the new IDER Tool and request an extension.

  3. If you plan to use the BEAR invoicing method for reimbursements and do not have a Form 498 on file, here are instructions on how to complete the FCC Form 498. You will also need a PIN to file a BEAR or ask for an extension of the invoice deadline. If you do not already have one, here are instructions on how to apply for a PIN.
